Journal no.5 Integrating Technology into the classroom (Fied trip lesson plan)

Today the 4th of November, the EDET class traveled all the way east to Cobbs Cross Primary in English Harbor. I was excited to see how technology can be implemented into a lesson at a primary school level. The teacher prepared the learners by setting a good tone for the rest of the lesson  by letting the students figure out what was the day's topic, by offering clues. Eventually, by use of a laptop and projector, the teacher showed the class about a video a bout pollution, hence, my initial thought was that this was a science based lesson.
I was very receptive, and was excited to learn strategies that I could implement when I start teaching. As the lesson progressed, the teacher displayed a positive attitude which the students cultivated which made them very eager to learn.
The lesson was very successful, the teacher was very in tuned with her students as they were very engaged. However, what took me by surprise is that the lesson was an English one rather than science. Therefore this was mind blowing for me. I not only learned about integrating technology into lessons but also integrating more than one subject area into one session. This experience was very relevant to me , I have taken life changing tips which I will definitely implement in my classroom in the near future.

Lesson Plan Comparison
My first ASSURE lesson plan .
The teacher did not use the assure model however, the lesson was still effective. Th ASSURE model requires that you analyse your learners but her lesson plan did not display any learner analysis.
Moreover, the ASSURE model is concise while her's is a bit more detailed.  However, they both made use of technology in the lesson.
